"Shhhhhh!"

Jesse was becoming irritated with Chin and the simple fact that he just didn't seem to have the ability to be quiet. Instead of whispering, he would talk aloud. Didn't he understand that if they were heard, the police would be in route and with his record, he'd be in jail this time and the judge wasn't about to let him out until he had his hearing. He had no intentions of being in town when that date arrived. But if he could hang around just long enough to get a little pussy, then he'd be ready to travel.

"Jeez, Jesse, they ain't gonna hear me. They're clear in the other room. And I can hear music playin'."

"But there's neighbors Chin. And that one over there," he nodded to the large two and a half story just over the low wall by the driveway, "has a dog big enough to eat our asses. So would you please keep it down?"

They rattled the boxwoods but managed to minimize the voice sounds for several minutes of peeping before Chin had a concern.

"Look Jesse, if we take them outta here, what the hell we gonna do with 'em? We got no place to take 'em."

"I been thinkin' about that. You remember that guy we cleaned up that field for? He had a place up in country that I did some work on too. It's a farm or something. Hides the key under this old iron pig on the back porch. I went up there and painted inside the house two weekends. He told me where the key was."

"That don't mean it's still there. Maybe he just left it there so you could get in to paint."

It occurred to Jesse that he just might be right. But he liked to think of himself as a hardened career criminal who always thought of these things.

"Don't you think I already thought of that? In the mornin', we go up there and check it out. If it's there, we get it and make a copy at the hardware story. Then we got our own key."

And so it was that the plan was made without even planning it.
